MKCF CALL 9
The second phase of the “Capacity Building for Regional Project Management of MKCF Projects” (PRIME 2.0) is designed to strengthen institutional and human capacities while fostering regional cooperation among MKCF project implementation agencies (PIAs), as well as national, regional, and international stakeholders engaged in Mekong–ROK cooperation. Building lessons from the first phase, PRIME 2.0 aims to enhance the project management capacity of MKCF PIAs, reinforce regional coordination, and foster multi-stakeholder partnerships between the Mekong and ROK. These efforts will improve institutional performance, advance sectoral development, co-create collaborative initiatives, promote sub-regional integration and support sustainable development in the Mekong region, ensuring lasting social, economic, and sectoral impacts of MKCF projects. PRIME 2.0 delivers a comprehensive set of collaborative activities aligned with national priorities and the regional objectives of the Mekong–ROK Plan of Action (2021–2025) and the forthcoming 2026–2030 framework. Core activities include training programs on regional project identification for MKCF-eligible organizations, together with basic and advanced capacity-building workshops and hands-on coaching in project monitoring and evaluation to strengthen the management and reporting capacity of PIAs. Field visits will capture outcome-level results and lessons learned from MKCF projects, which will be showcased at the annual Mekong–ROK Cooperation Forums. These forums will highlight MKCF achievements, facilitate in-depth sectoral dialogue, and foster multi-stakeholder partnerships to address sectoral challenges and create opportunities for the sustainability of MKCF projects. The upgraded MKCF web-based M&E system, enhanced with AI-embedded functionalities, will serve as a central database to document best practices, outcomes, and impacts, thereby supporting evidence-based decision-making and long-term strategic planning.
